How to Manually move a cpanel to a new server.

In normal conditions you would do a home directory and data base back up from within your old cpanel and then copy the back ups to a new server and restore them. However, there will be sometimes where you have a reason to move a cpanel to a new server manually.

Firstly, lets look at where things are stored in your cpanel.

  1. Website data (Your actual website files) would normally be in the '/public_html' folder.
  2. Emails are usually stored in the home directory under the 'mail' folder.

Any sub domains wil,l usuall be in the public_html folder but sometimes will be found in the home directory under folders named after ther website. e.g. yourwebsite.com
