What is a SIP Trunk:

SIP trunks are basically virtual phone lines that enable users to make and receive phone calls over the internet to anyone in the world with a phone number. SIP trunks utilize a packet switch network, in which voice calls are broken down into digital packets and sent across a network to the final destination.

Each SIP trunk supports SIP channels. A SIP channel is equivalent to one incoming or outgoing call. A SIP trunk can hold an unlimited number of channels, so your business only needs one SIP trunk no matter how many concurrent calls you expect. The number of channels required depends on how many calls your business will make at any one time.

 

How do I setup a SIP trunk in my Crazytel Portal?

1. Log into your Crazytel account portal

2. Select "SIP TRUNKS" from your left hand menu and click on "ADD SIP TRUNKS"

3. Select the "Trunk Type" (Normally choose "Register Based")

4. A unique user name and password will be automatically provided for each SIP trunk.

5. Choose your caller ID for this line.

6. Enter a nick name for the line for easy identification in other sections of your portal (Optional).

7. IMPORTANT *** Make sure you copy your SIP trunk details somewhere, especially the password as you will not be able to view the password after you click "Submit"

8. Click "SUBMIT"
